So talking about Diavolo's/Dio's and Giorno's symbolism as the Devil, God and Jesus, I pointed out that:

Diavolo's symbolism as a "devil" goes further by
- having a mysterious born (impossible father, not having a specific date but set in summer, as opposed to Jesus who's usually celebrated in winter)

- being raised by a priest + being shown as good when younger -- evil coming out of such an unexpected place (similar to Satan being an angel)

- being a deceiver (Satan is portrayed as a deceiver), fooling everyone as Doppio

DIAVOLO IS THE ORIGINAL (and how reading Doppio is DESTROYS Diavolo character and symbolism) blogger edition of this twitter thread  ( pastebin here ) I was originally ranting, "answering" someone who believes Doppio is the original. original twitter thread this is all assumptions of course His legal name is probably Solido Naso, given by either his adoptive father or his biological mom (we know D/D introduced himself with Donatella as Solido Nasso, this is why many assume this was his legal name) Diavolo is his self-given name or how his adoptive father could have called him after discovering* his true** form * HEAVILY implied with VA anime episode 26 (this doesn't happen in the manga) ** Diavolo is canonically stated as his true form in King Crimson VS Metallica part 1 Vinegar Doppio is, i can't emphasize this enough, PROBABLY, how he called himself since Diavolo (at least when co-conscious) seems to reazlize they share a body And Vinegar could be an extra to have an actual full name, a name Doppio himself picked or anything tbh
